Q. What products do you sell?
Q. Where do you deliver to?
A. We offer free delivery within 100 miles of Oneonta, NY. We do offer delivery beyond 100 miles for small charge within New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts (some city restrictions apply).
Q. Are your products Amish made?
A. All of our products are Amish made. We work with over 30 Amish families in the Northeast to get our customers the best product and the best price.
Q. How big do your buildings come?
A. Buildings delivered as a whole unit come as large as 14×40, or as large as 24×40 when delivered in 2 halves and joined on site. Larger products are built on the customers site and can be constructed to any size.
Q. Do you finance?
A. Yes. We accept cash, check & all major credit cards. However, with the average storage shed costing between $1,800 – $6,000 we offer 2 options for payments on our structures.
1. Rent to Own. Our rent to own option is available on any single wide units delivered in one piece up to $10,000 ($6,000 on gazebos). There is no credit check and no early pay off penalty. 90 days same as cash. Delivery cannot exceed the free 100 mile delivery radius.
2. Financing. We offer a quick credit check financing for buildings up to $55,000. 84 month term, no early payoff penalty.
Q. Do you build garages?
A. We build garages of all sizes, from pre-fab single wide units to 2 & 3 car garages built on site. One and two story options available. All our garages are stick frame, we do not offer pole barns or carports.
Q. How are the buildings delivered?
A. Our buildings are generally delivered with a pickup truck and shed trailer. The trailer is on hydraulics allowing it to move 90 degrees without moving the truck. We also have a shed mover (The Mule), which is great for getting buildings in tight spots hard to access with a truck a trailer. If your site is not accessible, we offer knock down buildings that can be brought in and erected on your site.
Q. Can I live in your buildings?
A. Every town has different requirements. It is the customer’s responsibility to obtain all necessary permits. Amish Barn Company will gladly provide any specs necessary for our storage sheds.
All of our pre-built units are intended for storage or recreational use only. We do offer built on site structures that can be designed to meet your local towns requirement for a potential full time dwelling. Always check with your local code to make sure you have all the facts before purchasing a unit intended for living purposes.
Q. What type of foundation do I need?
A. The ideal site preparation includes the customer having a gravel pad installed either by a local gravel contractor, or by the customer. This pad should be two feet bigger than the building on each side (four feet on door side if having a ramp installed). The purpose of the gravel is to create a level surface with good drainage.
Q. Do I need a building permit?
A. In many places, structures under 144 sq. ft. do not require a building permit. However, every town/county has different requirements. It is the customer’s responsibility to check with their town/county & obtain all the necessary permits. Amish Barn Company will gladly provide any building specs necessary. Building code officials will also be able to advise you on setback requirements for property lines.
